Alpharetta Wins Fulton County Backing For North Point TAD Agreement
The agreement allows use of Fulton County's TAD increment for the proposed North Point project, according to a local council member. Alpharetta City Council member John Hipes announced that Fulton County has unanimously approved an intergovernmental agreement tied to the city's Tax Allocation District No. 3. The agreement comes after the City Council approved a request for Fulton County's participation in the TAD. The project is expected to raise the TADS' taxable digest by $976 million, or 374 percent, to about $1.24 billion by 2040. The new district could support 5,000-6,900 permanent on-site jobs. Progress on the North Point development is contingent on the NHL awarding a franchise to the area by 2031.
