A career-high 44 points from Dejounte Murray, including the game-winning shot in the last seconds of overtime, helped the Atlanta Hawks defeat the Boston Celtics 123-122 on Thursday night. In the extra session, Murray scored all 11 points for Atlanta, giving the Hawks a second win against Boston in as many days.

As per the NBA Website, De’Andre Hunter concluded with a double-double, scoring 21 points and collecting 13 rebounds, while Bogdan Bogdanović added 24 points of his own. All-Star Trae Young has missed 17 straight games due to a finger injury, but Murray has kept the Hawks in the hunt for the Eastern Conference play-in tournament. NBA supporters were moved by his bravery in the match vs Boston.

Interestingly, Dejounte Murray’s 44 points on 44 shots tied a record set by an unwelcome Bryant in 2002. It was the player’s lowest point total in at least those several attempts. In a 98-95 overtime defeat to the Boston Celtics, Bryant also recorded that stat. After 47 tries, he scored 41 points.
