TX Monks' 120-Day Walk To US Capitol Arrives In GA
Nineteen monks from TX are walking 2,300 miles over a span of 120 days to call for peace as they head toward the U.S. Capitol, visiting GA. The 19 monks from Texas began their 120-day walk to the US Capitol on Oct. 26, and are expected to arrive on Feb. 13, 2026 at the Capitol in Washington, D.C. The group's goal is to raise awareness of peace, loving kindness, and compassion across America and the world. Since entering Georgia on Friday, the monks have visited West Point, Hogansville, Lagrange, Sharpsburg, Moreland, Fayetteville and Peachtree City. They are scheduled to arrive at the Morrow Center around 5:30 p.m. Monday at the Little Giant Farmers Market parking lot. Clayton County Chairwoman Dr. Alieka Anderson-Henry and social media influencer Taylor Jennings welcomed the monks as they passed through Fayette County.
