LAMAR COUNTY, Ga. — A high-speed chase with deputies and Georgia troopers ended with one suspect dead, his passenger injured and a trooper injured.

Lamar County Sheriff Brad White said the chase happened Monday night in Lamar County off Barnesville Road and Ga. 136.

Around 9:54 p.m., Georgia State Patrol says a trooper tried to pull over a driver, identified as Bryan Pierre Williams, and his passenger, identified as Vincent Hughes, on Barnesville Road.

Williams refused to stop and sped away in a Chevy Tahoe from the trooper, according to investigators. GSP says the trooper tried to do a pit maneuver, but it was unsuccessful and ended with Williams hitting the trooper’s car.
